I saw this meme at Deb on the Run. Nobody’s tagged me, but I wanted to do it:
Outside my window … gray skies, green leaves, one rewarding splash of purple lilac.
I am thinking … that I don’t feel like going anywhere or doing anything today.
I am thankful for … my daughters and my loose pants. (They were tight last week.)
From the kitchen … guilt feelings emanate: breakfast things are strewn about.
I am wearing … green shirt and black pants.
I am creating … this post! Also a grocery list, in the back of my mind.
I am going … to church in a little while. (Did I mention I don’t feel like going anywhere or doing anything?)
I am reading … titles off my shelf, looking for one to grab me, having tried and failed to read another Eudora Welty novel.
I am hoping… this day will start to roll by itself.
I am hearing … the dryer, the shower upstairs, the computer’s breathy hum. (Why are my daughters so quiet? This could mean trouble…)
Around the house … beds are made, bodies are clean, and there’s a strain underneath that I can’t put my finger on.
One of my favorite things … spending an evening in Barnes & Noble by myself.
A few plans for the rest of the week: Finding a new book to read, reading to the girls, vegetating, a field trip to the science center, haircuts for the girls, sprouts coming up in the garden.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing …
Speechless adoration. Here’s my main source of it! ![]()

Speaking of memes, my Five Things meme is up. We left for a trip the day after you tagged me, and we just returned today (and learned that a hotel with free Internet access isn’t necessarily something to get excited about, especially if you can’t actually log onto the ‘Net via their WiFi).
Thanks for tagging me.
