Blogwarming

Posted by: Janet on: September 10, 2008

The 15th will mark a year since I started blogging here at Findings. Some thoughts:

  • I thought it would be about writing (which it is), but I didn’t expect to rediscover reading. I feel like I’ve gotten back in touch with an important part of myself.
  • There are lots of people in cyberspace! I kinda thought it would be like keeping a private journal with a nice looking template, but – LOTS of others swimming around out here! It’s been really neat to make some cyberfriends, and to get reacquainted with some longstanding ones I’d lost touch with over distance.
  • I love comments. Sometimes things I toss off in a hurry get lots of comments, and things I labor over get none. I think it’s important to retain your own idea of value, and not get pulled into measuring it by the number of comments — much though I value your comments!

It may seem a strange way to celebrate my first blogoversary, but I’m relocating in cyberspace. For the last week or so, I’ve been setting up a new blog in my own web domain. With the busyness of the fall, I may actually be blogging less, but when I do it will be at my new niche (a gift from my husband :-) If you’d like to come over, I’m open for visitors now! It’s called Across the Page. There’s not much written yet, but it’s set up…

I’ll go get the hot cider and doughnuts together!

What a sweet gift from your hubby. I’ll go change my RSS feed.

Happy blog birthday and happy new blog!

Thank you! :-)

Congratulations on your new home! Will this one go away or will you keep both?

Good question! I haven’t decided…

Oh sweet. You have LibraryThing too. I’m going to change over my feed now…. See you in the new place. Your hubby sure is a nice guy! :-)

I heartily agree. :-)

Congratulations on your anniversary and on finding a new home! I look forward to reading “Across the Page”.

Hi — don’t know if you’re still getting e-mail notices from this site, but wanted to let you know when I clicked on your newest post through both Google Reader and Bloglines, I get a site about a webhosting domain.
